Kamenka is 410

Residents of Kamenka mark August 28 the anniversary of their native city - 410 years from the date of the first chronicle mention of Kamenka. Solemn events began with a festive liturgy in the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. Then, by tradition, the center of celebrations became the city park of culture and recreation. It was opened in the early 19th century by Count Peter Wittgenstein. Then a palace with a beautiful park was built, a stone church was built in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a vineyard was planted, a climatic station was opened. The park continues to please the townspeople after a century.

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky, deputies of the Supreme Council Valery Babchinetsky and Oleg Bayev, city leaders, representatives of the state administration bodies, citizens of Kamenka and guests of the city laid flowers to the Memorial of Glory, paying tribute to the memory of their fellow countrymen.

According to the press service of the President, in a congratulatory speech, Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the respectful attitude of the city and district residents to the history and succession of generations.
