Meeting in the Amber region

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and Head of the Parliamentary Committee for the Development of Business and Industry Viktor Guzun met with Kaliningrad colleagues - the Chairperson of the Kaliningrad Regional Duma Marina Orgeyeva and the Head of the Committee for Economic Policy and Infrastructure Development Alexander Nikulin.

Welcoming the guests, Marina Orgeyeva told about the structure and activities of the regional parliament, as well as the main directions of development of the amber region. She highlighted a number of important regional social laws adopted over the past few years. Thus, the speaker noted that since 2019 large families have the opportunity instead of receiving cash payment. More than 100 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for these purposes. The regional Duma in the first reading adopted law-in-draft “The Social Code of the Kaliningrad Region”. It is based on the principles of targeting and needs. To improve the safety of citizens' lives, amendments to the regional Code of Administrative Offenses were adopted, implying the introduction of fines for entering the ice during the prohibited period. Currently, the regional Duma is considering law-in-draft establishing responsibility for bathing in unstated places.

Speaker of the Pridnestrovian parliament Alexander Korshunov noted the similarity of the geopolitical position of the Kaliningrad region and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. He emphasized that the legislation of our republic is harmonized with the Russian one. In this regard, the experience of Kaliningrad deputies is very interesting for parliamentarians of Pridnestrovie. The priorities of the republic are the development of close economic contacts with the regions of Russia.

Alexander Nikulin told parliamentarians about the benefits of investing in the amber region. He noted that a powerful tool for the development of the economy is the presence in the sphere of special legal regime of a special economic zone. The deputy spoke about the preferential working conditions of foreign companies on the territory of a special administrative district on the island "Oktyabrsky" in Kaliningrad.

Victor Guzun informed that a package of investment laws was launched in Pridnestrovie, which are designed to attract money and technology from abroad, to create jobs. The investor is guaranteed a stable business environment. Since 2018, the law has been in effect in the republic, which allows working in the field of blockchain technologies, including mining.

Parliamentarians agreed to continue cooperation. The plans include the organization of a meeting of representatives of business structures of Pridnestrovie and the Kaliningrad region to establish business contacts.
