What program will take us out of the crisis?

Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla, Parliamentarian Vladimir Pasyutin, Advisor to the Speaker Alexei Tsurcan, representatives of the Government attended the hearing in which the participants of the republican contest "The program of social and economic development of PMR for 2016-2021" their brief annotations were presented.

Let’s remember, the decision to hold it was made on 22 January 2015, it created a special commission, the secretariat was elected, and announcement was published in the national press. The winner of the competition wins $ 500 thousand rubles. Before March 1, 28 applications were filed to participate in it. Entrepreneurs, students, business leaders, citizens' associations, research groups are among the contenders. Originally, the winner will be announced in late August, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the republic. However, the worsening socio-economic situation in the republic does not allow time to lose - the organizers shifted the timing of the planned activities, shortened them in time. By June 1, the contestants must submit draft programs of social and economic development of Pridnestrovie for the next five years, until June 8 - publicly present them. The winner should be known until 12 June.

The preliminary stage of this complex work was held today in the auditorium of the PSU. 18 of the 28 candidates have expressed their desire to participate in it. As decided by the participants of the competition, competitors must not be witnessed and participated in these short (10 minutes) presentations. Draft programs of social and economic development designed to solve a number of promising state tasks, including GDP growth, macroeconomic stabilization, reducing the budget deficit, improve the living standards of the population. At the same time developers should take into account the numerous and specific factors unique to our republic, in particular external, such as a legal non-recognition of PMR, the restriction of foreign economic activities of its businesses.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council, a member of the commission for the contest "Program of socio-economic development in the 2016-2021 of PMR" Mikhail Burla welcomed participants of public hearing presentations.

Organizers of the event have provided contestants with complete freedom in what they will say in the report, what methods to confirm their words, limited only by the performances. It is noteworthy that a number of competitors have focused their proposals only on certain sectors of our economy, in particular industry; presented other innovative projects, and others, and they were the majority, presented the programs that are comprehensive.

The members of the committee, and among them Speaker of Parliament had the opportunity to ask specific questions the authors of projects of socio-economic development. Most of them are focused on vision of contestants financial support voiced their ideas and suggestions.

Reference: The legislature has the vision of long-term development of the country. In particular, the Supreme Council adopted a law-in-draft that approves the strategy of Pridnestrovie until 2025 in the first reading. Four years ago, it was developed by the Moscow Center for Strategic Research under the direction of well-known Russian economist Mikhail Dmitriev.
