Homes for orphans

22.07.2020

60 orphans in 2019 received their own housing at the expense of the republican budget. These data were announced at the plenary session in the report on the implementation of the State Target Program for the provision of housing for orphans and children left without parental care for 2019. The program was adopted in 2018 and is valid until 2026.

Annually, approximately 7-8 million rubles are allocated in the state budget for the purchase of apartments and houses for orphans. Last year - approximately 8 million rubles, but the money was not fully spent. Instead of the planned 67 apartments, 60 were purchased. 16 apartments - in Tiraspol and 16 - in Bendery, 10 - in Slobodzeya district, 6 - in Grigoriopol district, 3 apartments were bought in Dubossary district, 8 apartments were purchased in Rybnitsa district and 1 apartment in Kamenka. The Ministry of Social Protection explained: 2 residential premises were not purchased in Slobodzeya district and 5 in Rybnitsa.

A wheelchair user needed an apartment with a ramp on the first floor in Slobodzeya district. Then there were no suitable options in a private home of another orphan child. The offered apartments did not meet the requirements of orphans in Rybnitsa region. All 7 people who did not receive housing under the state program last year were moved to the queue for housing for 2020, the Ministry of Social Protection noted. The deputies consider that there is no need to increase the queue.

The Head of the relevant parliamentary committee Sergei Cheban added: if no suitable housing is found for an orphan who is in line for this year, you can make adjustments to the state program and buy an apartment or house for another person on the waiting list. It is necessary to fulfill all the financial obligations that were laid down in the program.

The report on the implementation of the State Target Program for the provision of housing for orphans and children left without parental care was approved by the deputies in the course of the plenary session.
