Housing for orphans

18.11.2020

Deputies considered the president's proposals on adjusting the budget for this year in the regime of legislative necessity. The initiative concerns the implementation of the state program to provide housing for orphans and children left without parental care.

It was planned to purchase 3 apartments for orphans in a new building under construction in Dnestrovsk this year. However, the facility was not completed this year as planned it will be commissioned only in 2021. In the secondary market, the cost of housing is higher, so the funds that were budgeted (221 thousand rubles) are enough for two one-room apartments. The amount planned for this year (1 million 261 thousand rubles) is enough to purchase not 7 apartments, but 9 in Bendery. It was necessary to make appropriate changes to the budget for this year draw up the necessary documents and transfer ownership to the new owners to buy housing. The Supreme Council adopted the law-in-draft in two readings at once.

The program for providing housing for orphans was adopted by the Supreme Council and operates from 2019 to 2026. Last year, 60 orphans received their own apartments or houses (by choice) in the cities of Pridnestrovie. The purchase of 46 residential premises was planned for this year. According to the Ministry of Social Protection, the state program for 2020 has been completed by 82%. Housing was purchased and transferred to new owners in all cities of the republic, except for Dnestrovsk. 2 people more than planned will receive apartments in Bendery. The state program for the purchase of housing for orphans will be completed by the end of the year, the Ministry of Social Protection assured.
