The delegation of the German and Czech agencies for development and international cooperation visited the Supreme Council. Representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation Hans Bernd Kuchta and Mircea Ursu are from the German side, representative of the Development Agency Radka Rubilina and expert on health care and social assistance at home Tamara Adasan are from the Czech side.
The legislature of our republic was represented by its head Alexander Shcherba, as well as the chairmen of the parliamentary committees Sergei Cheban, Mikhail Burla, Viktor Guzun and Alexander Korshunov. In addition, the participants of the meeting from the Pridnestrovian side were members of the Coordinating Council for Technical Assistance to Pridnestrovie.
One of the topics of the bilateral dialogue held in the Supreme Council was the exchange of experience in providing citizens with medical and social assistance.
The representative of the German Agency for International Cooperation, Hans Bernd Kuhta, told the people's deputies of Pridnestrovie about the tasks they are solving in our republic with the financial participation of the European Union. In particular, it is about upgrading water supply networks in the Dubossary district.
There is provision of social and medical assistance to elderly people in the list of areas for potential cooperation. The interlocutors conducted a comparative analysis of models of social security and protection of citizens, which are used in Pridnestrovie and in European countries, which, in turn, have already been successfully implemented in the post-Soviet space. Their essence lies in the creation of special social centers that elderly people could visit for medical services or where almost 5-6 people could live at home. An important factor in this is the communication, socialization of such citizens.
Another type of social assistance is visiting citizens of retirement age, left without care of relatives, members of special mobile brigades. They include a social and medical worker. Using the transport assigned to them, they serve a large number of citizens in a certain territory.
These mechanisms have been used for almost 30 years in Western countries. It is cheaper than maintaining social institutions according to assurances of European representatives.
The participants in the international meeting agreed on the further exchange of the legislative base developed in the sphere of social security, information on the technical and material equipment of these centers.
