Amendments to the law on privatization

26.04.2023

The deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic received several legislations at once that regulate the issues of denationalization and privatization. Following the results of the working meetings, it was decided to take as a basis one law-in-draft, which was presented by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and reject the rest. However, the deputies of the relevant Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance made a number of changes and additions from alternative legislations to the main legislative initiative, which will reduce the administrative and financial costs of the state in the field of privatization.

The deputies of the profile Committee considered it necessary to stipulate the pre-emptive right of members of the labor collective, tenants or shareholders of the company to buy out the object or its share and their order in the event of the privatization of the object.

Another innovation in the law concerns the work of members of the privatization commission directly. The parliamentarians considered that when voting on the basis of the results of the auction, two options are sufficient: “for” or “against”. But the paragraph "abstained" should be deleted. According to the deputies of the relevant Committee, this will allow making decisions faster and more balanced.

The deputies of the Supreme Council agreed with the opinion of their colleagues from the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance. Amendments and additions to the law "On denationalization and privatization" were adopted in the second final reading. The document has been sent to the President for signature.
