Amendments to the law on the republican budget for 2024

24.01.2024

One of the issues that parliamentarians considered in the course of the plenary session on the 24th of January was changes and additions to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “On the Republican Budget for 2024”. The legislative initiative, prepared by parliamentarians Alexander Korshunov and Galina Antyufeyeva, proposed to clearly define the circle of those who have the right to state support in the form of reducing the cost of consumed housing and communal services, including gas supply, electricity supply, heat energy supply, water supply, sewerage, and also for benefits for these services.

All persons of retirement age living in Pridnestrovie who have documents certifying this, regardless of whether they are citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic or not use state support and benefits for utility services, according to the current legislation until now.

The law-in-draft was adopted at the plenary meeting in the first reading and after voting with amendments and in the second final reading.

Parliamentarians noted that people permanently residing in Pridnestrovie, but using Soviet-style passports, most often these are elderly people, retain their right to receive state support and benefits for utility bills.

Deputies voted for amendments to the law on the republican budget for 2024, which provide for the allocation of funding to the Central Election Commission of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for holding additional elections of a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the constituency Number 24 “Parkany”, the deputy of which was Ivan Nedelkov, who died suddenly in December 2023.
