Amendments to the law on the Unified State Register of Real Estate Objects of Cultural Heritage

13.06.2024

Amendments to the law “On the Unified State Register of Immovable Objects of Cultural Heritage” were approved by parliament in the course of the meeting held on June 13 in the second reading.

The law regulates the protection and use of cultural heritage sites in the republic. The PMR Government proposed to include in the register new cultural heritage objects identified during state historical and cultural examinations. The law-in-draft clarifies information about archaeological monuments that are included in the register.

Employees of the Archeology research laboratory of Pridnestrovian State University named after Shevchenko conducted 211 state historical and cultural examinations of land plots, during which new cultural heritage objects were discovered. We are talking about mounds, which are burial places of ancient cultures and civilizations that once lived on the territory of Pridnestrovie.

The adoption of amendments to the law “On the Unified State Register of Immovable Objects of Cultural Heritage” provides the state with the opportunity to protect and reconstruct immovable objects of cultural heritage. Monuments of archaeology, history and culture of our country also create new opportunities for the development of tourism in Pridnestrovie.

The law-in-draft will come into force upon the signing.
