Electricity tariffs will not change. Only the third paragraph will appear in the calculations for consumed electricity as part of the amendments to the law on the budget for 2023. As it was noted in the course of the plenary session, the innovation will not affect both privileged categories of the population and the majority of subscribers in general. The changes will affect only about 1% of the population. These are those who consume more than 500 kWh of electricity per month. The rest is unchanged: up to 150 kW / h per month - 54 kopecks per 1 kW / h, above this limit - 72 kopecks per 1 kW / h.
The Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik reminded that the state provides the population with a subsidy for every kWh. After 500 kWh, there will be no such subsidy. The subscriber will begin to pay for electricity consumed above this figure at an economically justified tariff - 93 kopecks per 1 kW / h.
All parliamentarians agree with this point of view. However, disputes arose over the amount of electricity consumed, which the state would subsidize. The government proposed to introduce this rate for those who consume more than 300 and 350 kW / h (for those subscribers who use electric stoves). The changes would affect 13% of Pridnestrovian subscribers; these are almost 25 thousand apartments or private houses in this case. Some parliamentarians spoke in support of this position, citing their arguments.
However, the majority of parliamentarians expressed concern that, for example, large families may not fit into the norm of 300 and 350 kWh. The decision proposed by the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance was adopted by a majority of votes - to apply an economically justified tariff for 501 or more consumed kWh per month in order to avoid such problems.
As for other changes to the law on the republican budget, the deputies voted for the allocation of funds for the purchase of a drilling rig with drilling equipment for the Geological Exploration and Water Supply and Sanitation enterprises. It will be used to drill new wells. The limits for the Road Fund for this year have also been increased.
The law-in-draft will enter into force on the day following the day of its official publication.
