The Customs Code amendments

17.01.2024

Parliamentarians considered and adopted amendments to the Customs Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in two readings at once. They provide for the abolition of the special customs procedure for business entities and are aimed at increasing budget revenues. Representatives of the Government presented the law-in-draft to the deputies of the Supreme Council in the course of the plenary meeting.

A special customs procedure was in effect for this category of land users until now. It did not provide for the collection of customs duties and customs payments when carrying out foreign economic activity. Legislators agreed after discussing the law-in-draft that the approach to the work of all business entities should be uniform. In the context of searching for sources of replenishment of the revenue side of the republican budget, a uniform approach to the levy of customs duties on goods is reasonable.

The legislative initiative of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was adopted in two readings at once. This means that after the law is signed by the head of state and it comes into force, customs clearance of goods will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Customs Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
