The Supreme Council Deputies considered and adopted amendments and additions to the law “On the republican budget for 2024” in the second final reading. The legislative initiative of the President proposed to increase the volume of financing for compensation of costs incurred by the State Unitary Enterprise “Water Supply and Sanitation”, as well as to expand the program under the Capital Investment Fund.
The infrastructure of Pridnestrovian enterprises of natural monopolies is almost 100% worn out, as noted by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov. He recalled the big accident at the Bendery collector in 2023 and cited the example of another utility accident in the capital this time.
According to the amendments to the budget law for the current year adopted at the plenary session, additional funding for the inter-tariff difference between the economically justified tariff and the tariff paid by the population will be allocated to the State Unitary Enterprise “Water Supply and Sanitation”.
The Parliament voted to allocate an additional 28.6 million rubles to carry out capital works.
An increase in the income and expenses of the Capital Investment Fund by 30.5 million rubles was provided as part of this legislative initiative. The funds are planned among other things for the construction and major repairs of facilities of the Ministry of Healthcare, the continuation of work on the creation of a state historical and local history museum as part of the capital’s Catherine Park and other objects.
Parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the legislative initiative in the second final reading. The document will be sent to the President for signature and will come into force on the day following the day of official publication.
