The Central Election Commission of Pridnestrovie developed a new scheme for cutting the constituencies in which the Pridnestrovians will vote at the end of November this year. The number of constituencies decreased to 33. This is due to the fact that a number of deputies in parliament has been reduced - from 43 to 33 people. Corresponding changes were made to the Constitution in August 2019.
The Head of the PMR Central Election Commission, Elena Gorodetskaya, reported: 412 437 voters were registered in the republic. Due to the reduction in the number of constituencies, the average representation rate per parliamentarian increased – 12 498 voters.
6 constituencies will be formed in Bendery, 3 – in the Grigoriopol district and Grigoriopol, 2 – in the Dubossary district and Dubossary, 2 – in Kamenka district and Kamenka, 5 – in Rybnitsa district and Rybnitsa, 6 – in Slobodzeya district and Slobodzeya, 9 constituencies – in Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk.
The new scheme presents the borders of the constituencies, their numbers and names, the streets and houses are registered, as well as the centers where the district election commissions will be located.
The Central Election Commission will send the scheme for the formation of electoral districts for the election of deputies of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation of the Central Election Commission to the Supreme Council for approval. After discussion in the committees, the date of the plenary meeting will be determined, at which the deputies will consider and approve the new scheme of districts.
