Based on the numerous appeals of citizens Galina Antyufeeva and Vadim Krasnoselsky developed a law-in-draft, according to which the owners of privatized housing will be able to evict the current or former family members in case of default of their duties or abuse of housing rights. As it was noted during the discussion session, there are many examples of such situations.
The existing norms of the Housing Code established the grounds for eviction from homes. This systematic destruction and damage of the premises or use it for other purposes, violation of rights and interests of the owner and family members, voluntary departure for permanent residence in another place, the failure without justifiable reasons within six months of payment for housing and communal services. These rules do not apply to those who have moved in to the premises prior to its privatization. In order to avoid infringing on the rights of property owners and their family members, the law-in-draft proposed to allow them to go to court on the eviction. The draft law amending the Housing Code was adopted in the first reading.
