The PMR Supreme Court Chairman Adrian Penkovsky reported to President Vadim Krasnoselsky on the results of work in 2021. Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva took part in the extended meeting of judges, which was held online. The meeting raised problematic issues in the work of the judiciary. In particular, the workload of civil judges is high, with an average of 333 cases per staff member. The problem of staff turnover is urgent. The topic of advanced training of judges was raised. With the assistance of the Russian State University of Justice, 44 judges underwent advanced training, 6 of which are judges of the Supreme Court in 2021. Work in this direction will continue this year, said Adrian Penkovsky.
It was said during the online report that some civil cases are being considered for a long time. To change the situation, an analysis of the work of judges is being carried out, the Head of the Supreme Court noted.
The Supreme Court is completing work on organizing the implementation of the requirements of the law "On ensuring access to information on the activities of the courts of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The fact that it is necessary to post information on the consideration of cases and the texts of judicial acts on the official websites of the courts has been said more than once by the deputies of the Supreme Council. According to Adrian Penkovsky, the Judicial Department has developed the websites of city and district courts, and they are currently being updated with the necessary information. The PMR Supreme Court Chairman spoke about the formation of an electronic archive of cases and the need to create a base for storing video recordings of court sessions that take place via video link. The law on the republican budget for 2022 includes funds for the purchase of server equipment necessary for these purposes.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky urged the leadership of the Supreme Court to more actively use the right of legislative initiative, correcting the legislation. Any contradiction, discrepancy should be considered in favor of citizens, the PMR President emphasized.
The work of courts of general jurisdiction in 2021 was recognized by the President as satisfactory.
