Results of work of Office of Public Prosecutor

An extended meeting of the board of the Prosecutor's Office, dedicated to summing up the results of work for 2017 was held in the capital. The meeting was attended by President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, Deputy Galina Antyufeeva, heads of ministries, departments, representatives of local authorities.

Prosecutor of the Republic Anatoly Guretsky noted that preliminary coordination meetings were held in all cities and regions of the republic. The city and district prosecutor's offices conducted work on the collection and analysis of information. The meeting today, according to the prosecutor, is an opportunity to sum up the work, assess the quality of work, identify weaknesses, draw conclusions. Anatoly Guretsky associates the presence of some defects in the work of the department with the truncation of prosecutorial powers. Currently, the Supreme Council is actively working on amendments to the Constitution, returning the previous powers to the prosecutor's office. This was announced during the meeting of the board by the Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba.

He also called on public prosecutors to cooperate on the reduction of administrative barriers for citizens and economic agents.

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the strict observance of the requirements of the law when considering complaints and appeals of citizens. The President noted that on the eve he signed a law developed by the head of the parliamentary committee for state regional policy Oleg Vasilaty. The author proposed to supplement the law "On Appeals of Citizens" with a new rule, according to which citizens can apply to state authorities during the working day.

In general, the head of state expressed satisfaction with the work of the prosecutor's office last year.
