As for mortality, there is a slight increase, which is partly due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to doctors. After all, the indicators have grown, including among the able-bodied population.

Kristina Albul announced data on the incidence of HIV, AIDS and tuberculosis in the republic. 2354 people are registered with Pridnestrovian doctors now. HIV-infected, 641 patients diagnosed with AIDS. As for tuberculosis, last year the incidence of it decreased, about 250 new cases were detected. The President noted the importance, effectiveness and necessity of implementing targeted state programs aimed at maintaining the health of citizens and preventing diseases.

Pridnestrovians also undergo treatment abroad. Last year, the list of cases when a patient from our republic was sent for treatment outside the country at public expense was increased. 580 residents of our republic were sent for foreign treatment in total.

There is still a shortage of personnel in the health care system. Although the Minister of Health said that the situation is gradually leveling off. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky paid special attention to this issue. He noted that there is still a shortage of so-called narrow specialists in the republic. Therefore, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers that close work with senior students of the medical faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University should be among the priorities of the Ministry of Health and its subordinate institutions. The President considers that such a dialogue will be useful to both parties.

Kristina Albul focused on the repair and construction work that took place in subordinate institutions. More than 41 million rubles were allocated from the Capital Investment Fund for the healthcare system in 2021. They repaired 70 polyclinics, hospitals and feldsher-obstetric station, purchased 20 vehicles for the ambulance service. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that plans for this year have to be adjusted. However, the renovations will continue.

Speaking about the work for the future, Minister of Health Kristina Albul emphasized that among the priorities are the introduction of a comprehensive information system, the opening of a modern cardiology center and a department for knee arthroplasty, as well as organizing rehabilitation for those who have had coronavirus and the fight against COVID-19 itself. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the role of Pridnestrovian doctors in this matter, saying that doctors decently cope with this test.

On behalf of the public, the Head of the youth wing of the Pridnestrovian people’s frong Sergey Sherstyuk thanked the Pridnestrovian doctors for their work. Deputy Prosecutor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Valery Starodub informed that the department works on the requests of citizens and reveals violations of the law in the healthcare system. The President expressed the opinion that the shortcomings are most often related to the apparatus of the Ministry of Health, and not to the work of doctors and nurses. He positively assessed the work of the entire department.

2022 has been declared the Year of Health in Pridnestrovie.
