The State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic summed up the results of its work for 2023. A detailed report on the activities of cultural and art institutions was presented by the head of the Civil Service Maria Kyrmyz. Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva and head of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Sports, public Associations, information and Youth Policy took part in the work of the reporting board.
Maria Kyrmyz noted in her report that as of January 1, 2024, the Civil Service oversees and coordinates the activities of 310 cultural institutions – 6 state and 304 municipal. These are theaters, palaces and houses of culture, museums, libraries, cinemas, as well as institutions of additional cultural and aesthetic education – children's music and art schools, art schools.
Government agencies organized and conducted in 2023 more than 7114 events, which were attended by more than 280000 spectators. 204 events were held at the Palace of the Republic, which were attended by more than 67 thousand spectators. 261 performances, including 186 performances for children, took place at the site of the Pridnestrovian State Theater of Drama and Comedy named after Natalia Aronetskaya, the audience amounted to more than 37 thousand people. The theater presented 49 more performances in the cities and districts of Pridnestrovie. More than 2 thousand events were held in open areas of cities and districts of the republic, which were attended by 430 thousand spectators in the spring and autumn period.
The republic's club institutions prepared and implemented 11,995 events with a total audience coverage of 1126249 people during the reporting period. 782 amateur art groups operate in Pridnestrovie today, more than 8 thousand people were engaged. They participate in international, national and municipal projects every year.
One of the tasks of the Civil Service is to preserve, ensure the preservation, revival and popularization of the national cultures of the Pridnestrovian people and the historical and cultural heritage of the republic. The Center of National Cultures of Pridnestrovie at the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts named after Rubinstein has prepared 3 methodological collections based on the Pridnestrovian component for specialists in the field of culture. Folklore expeditions to the villages of Grigoriopol, Dubossary and Rybnitsa districts of the republic were organized within the framework of the project "Ethnocultural Map of Pridnestrovie".
The head of the relevant department focused IN her report on the implementation in 2023 of the state target program "Preservation of immovable objects of cultural heritage of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic requiring urgent repair" for 2019-2024". Repair work was carried out at 9 facilities in Bendery, in the settlements of Dubossary, Rybnitsa and Kamenka districts as part of the state program last year.
The state of the material and technical base of municipal cultural institutions remains a problematic aspect. The head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage noted in her report that 86 cultural centers, museums and libraries throughout the republic require major repairs to date.
The Civil Service took an active part in the work on improving legislation in the field of culture and art in 2023. For example, as part of the provision of state support to masters of folk arts and crafts, amendments were adopted to the laws "On the Unified Social Tax and mandatory insurance contribution" and "On Income tax from individuals". The new rules exempted from taxation masters of folk arts and crafts and artisans who produce products of folk arts and crafts reflecting the authentic, ancestral culture of the territory of Pridnestrovie.
The fruitful interaction of the Civil Service for Culture and Parliament was noted by the chairman of the relevant Committee of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Buga.
The Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic highly appreciated the work of the Civil Service in 2023. Alexander Rosenberg noted that it is culture that shapes the way of life of the people and preserves statehood.
The PMR Government Chairman noted that the best assessment of the work of the Civil Service is the mass attendance of cultural events held in the republic, and thanked all workers of culture and art for the work done.
