Results of the Arbitration Court's work in 2024

The PMR Arbitration Court presented its results for 2024. The main areas of work of the judicial body are consideration of cases on economic disputes arising from civil, administrative and other legal relations, consideration of insolvency (bankruptcy) cases, as well as cases initiated at the initiative of government bodies. 773 cases of the total number of first instance cases in 2024 were considered on the merits with a decision. During the reporting period, the Arbitration Court received 82 cassation appeals against decisions and rulings made by the court of first instance. This figure decreased by 37.4% compared to 2023 (131 complaints were received in 2023).

There was a decrease in the workload of Arbitration Court judges based on the results of last year. For example, one first instance judge considered 10 cases per month on average. For comparison, there were 14 cases in 2023. The workload of cassation judges in 2024 was 3 cases per month, and in the previous year – 6 cases.

Speaking in the plenary session hall, Chairman of the Arbitration Court of the PMR Alexander Kiiko noted the professional approach of representatives of state authorities in protecting the interests of the state body. In addition, the head of the judicial body drew the attention of the deputies to the need to adjust some provisions of the law "On the Fundamentals of the Tax System in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic".

The Arbitration Court will prepare and send its proposals to the Supreme Council to amend the legislation in terms of collecting taxes in an uncontested manner. In general, the deputies took note of the information from the Arbitration Court on the work for 2024 and voted for the corresponding Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
