The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky in his message to the state authorities and administration separately outlined the tasks in the healthcare system. The relevant ministry and the Supreme Council will have to work together to solve them. Sergei Cheban, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare, spoke about the results of the past Year of Healthcare and plans for work in 2023 to journalists of the TSV TV channel in the Expert Opinion program.

Repair and equipping of feldsher-obstetric stations and rural medical outpatient clinics

2022 was held in Pridnestrovie as the Year of Health. The main work was aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of medical care, improving the efficiency of medical services, restoring and developing infrastructure in the healthcare sector. State programs were developed to provide assistance to the population, healthcare facilities were repaired, and new equipment was purchased.

The parliamentarian emphasized that the President, addressing the state authorities and administration, focused on the responsibility of work in feldsher-obstetric stations, which is assigned among other things to the heads of state administrations of cities and regions.

Government spending on the treatment of Pridnestrovians

Attention was paid to the implementation of state health programs in 2022. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the necessity of continuation the practice of providing treatment to Pridnestrovians abroad in areas that are not yet available within the Pridnestrovian healthcare system. The state allocated 37 million rubles for these purposes last year. For example, 403 patients with acute coronary syndrome were sent to clinics in Chisinau at the expense of the Pridnestrovian budget. 42 million are allocated in the republican budget for treatment outside the PMR for 2023.

The Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy emphasized the importance of the new state program for the prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis B and C that was launched last year.

Plans for joint work of deputies with the Ministry of Health

Speaking about plans for the current year, Sergei Cheban noted the necessity of working with the relevant ministry on the possibility of providing free medicine care to certain categories of citizens, in particular, those suffering from hypertension.

In addition, the deputies and the Ministry of Health are working together on the issue of hip and knee arthroplasty. This service last year began to be provided in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, before operations were carried out abroad.

Consolidation of young personnel in rural areas

It is important according to Sergei Cheban to follow the path of raising salaries and providing an opportunity to buy their own housing in order to attract medical workers, in particular, young professionals, to work in rural areas.
