Results of the Year of Ecology and Improvement

In the course of the working meeting of the President with representatives of state authorities, the Head of the State Service for Ecological Control and Environmental Protection Vasily Sotnikov made a report. He informed about the activities that were held last year. The main goal that was set is to increase the level of environmental safety in our republic. In this regard, special attention was paid to the effective disposal of municipal solid waste. The construction of solid waste landfills in Kamenka and Chobruchi, updated special vehicles for the removal and disposal of household waste, a number of measures have been taken to eliminate natural dumps. According to the Head of the department, it is necessary to continue work on the implementation of separate collection of solid waste in order to unload landfills. Last year, 4 tons of spent low-current batteries were taken out of the republic, and unscheduled environmental measures were taken at enterprises that have an increased impact on the environment and the environment.

Last year, close attention was paid to the water resources of our republic. Sanitary cleaning of water bodies, improvement of water protection strips and zones, biological reclamation was carried out. Much work has been done on stocking rivers and lakes. 26 tons of yearlings of carp, grass carp and silver carp were released into the reservoirs of our republic.

Last year, landscaping of settlements was actively carried out. The first results are already visible. In our cities there are new park areas where you can relax and spend free time. In new and existing park areas, children's and sports equipment is installed.

The President noted that the Year of Ecology is over, but the work should not stop. It is necessary to continue greening the cities, to actively involve small and medium-sized businesses in cooperation in these events. Since everything that we create today will remain for our children and grandchildren.
