The Results of the Year of the Agro-Industrial Complex, Rural Territories and Rural Tourism

The results of the last Year of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas and rural tourism were summed up as part of the announced Address of the PMR President to public and administrative authorities. As the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted, Pridnestrovian agricultural producers have been actively developing the local market over the past 7 years. Progress is noticeable in all areas of agriculture. Thus, the President gave examples, there were about 20-30% of vegetables on the market in 2018. Today it is 90-100%. Only a third of the milk was locally produced earlier, now it makes 70%. Such an increase is observed in all positions.

The head of the relevant department, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Oleg Diligul, reported on what was done in 2023 within the framework of the Year of the Agro-Industrial Complex, Rural Territories and Rural Tourism. He noted that the main task was and remains to ensure food security of the republic. As well as creating conditions in agriculture for food self-sufficiency and efficient use of natural resources.

The past year was devoted, among other things, to creating conditions for investment and innovative development in the agricultural sector, popularizing professions related to agricultural production, and increasing employment in rural areas.

Rural areas were developed in the republic. Cultural centers, stadiums were renovated, and roads were constructed. All this is financed by funds from the Capital Investment Fund and with the participation of local authorities and entrepreneurs. Agricultural fairs were held in all cities and regions of the republic, a Grape Festival was held, and excursions to enterprises were organized for schoolchildren and students of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions of Pridnestrovie to acquaint them with the full cycle of agricultural production. Seminars and conferences were held for specialists throughout the year in addition.

Another direction that gained popularity last year is rural tourism in Pridnestrovie. 3 weekend tours in rural areas have been developed and are in demand: Kitskany-Ternovka, Zozulyany-Vyhvatyntsy-Gojany and the Stroentsy-Raskov-Valea-Adynca tour.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked everyone who works in the agricultural sector for their work and noted that despite the end of the Year of the Agro-Industrial Complex, Rural Territories and Rural Tourism, it must be continued.
