Nikolay Gulyaev told the guests that he had been sent to the front as a 17-year-old boy in 1943 - in the midst of military operations. The first wound in the face of Nikolai Gennadievich was in battle near the Belarusian city of Zhlobin. Another, and again in the face was at the very end of the war.

According to the veteran, after the first injury, the cheek did not heal for a long time, and the doctors decided to send him for treatment in Tbilisi, where there was a more suitable climate. There he graduated from the school of medical instructors. Then he fought in Romania, Hungary, Austria and Czechoslovakia. In Hungary, the front headquarters distributed Nikolai Gennadievich a medical orderly to the finisher.

The conversation over tea lasted more than an hour. During this time, Nikolai Gulyaev shared with guests and other memories of the war and his post-war life. The veteran feels special pride for his great-grandson Denis - a pupil of the Republican Cadet Corps.
