The Historical Choice

Dear Pyotr Leonidovich!

On behalf of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and me personally let me congratulate you, your colleagues and all residents of the Republic of South Ossetia on the 27th anniversary of the founding of the republic!

September 20, 1990, the Council of People's Deputies of South Ossetia adopted the Declaration on the National Sovereignty of the Republic. This day was a historic step towards the modern independent state.

This national holiday personifies the courage and heroism of the South Ossetian people, who coped with a lot of difficult tests, were able to defend its independence and the right to a peaceful life. Today the Republic confidently achieves great successes in strengthening statehood and socio-economic transformations.

The basis for the successful implementation of all the goals is undoubtedly the painstaking labor and tremulous love of the inhabitants of South Ossetia to their native land, deep and sincere respect for the centuries-old roots and glorious traditions of their ancestors.

This festive day, I sincerely wish all the people of South Ossetia peace and prosperity, stability and confidence, happiness and prosperity.
