Work is underway in the republic to preserve cultural heritage sites that perpetuate the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War, the military events of 1992. The corresponding state target program, adopted by the Supreme Council last year, is aimed at this. It will be valid until 2021. It is planned within three years to carry out repair and restoration work on almost 30 objects. The total amount of financing exceeds 6 million rubles - at the expense of the republican and local budgets.

12 monuments were restored in the first year of the program implementation. Almost 1.5 million rubles were spent for this: 1 million 447 thousand rubles from the republican budget and approximately 14 thousand rubles from local budgets.

The list of restored monuments includes the Memorial of Glory and the monument to the soldiers-aviators in Tiraspol, the monument to those who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the village of Gidirim, Rybnitsa region, Memorials of Glory in Rybnitsa and Chobruchi, Slobodzeya region, and other objects.

Deputy of the Supreme Council for the Chobruchi constituency Oleg Vasilaty highly appreciated the repair work carried out at the Memorial of Glory. The parliamentarian initiated the work. For the first time in 60 years of the monument's existence, the foundation and walls were restored, and granite slabs were replaced.

At the online plenary meeting, the deputies approved the report submitted by the State Service for Culture on the progress of the program aimed at preserving monuments and on the effectiveness of the use of funds for 2019.
