Traditional meeting of veterans of the Second World War "Soldiers remember the Past Days" was held on the eve of Victory Day in the square of the United Museum in Tiraspol. Warriors-winners and those who forged victory in the rear were congratulated by Vadim Krasnoselsky, Alexander Shcherba and Alexander Martynov.
Seventy-seven veterans were greeted in the shady park in the center of the capital with bouquets of flowers and songs of the war years: "Blue Handkerchief", "Victory Day", "Zemlyanka" ... Today these songs are another vivid reminder of war, terrible battles, comrades who stayed on the battlefields, about the quiet moments in the dug-out at the fire, when they remembered the peaceful life, and in the memory the faces of loved ones and loved ones surfaced, and, of course, dreamed of Victory. Every soldier approached it with his military feat.
This day, all attention, sincere words of gratitude - to the veterans, to the workers of the rear, thanks to which the Soviet people won in that terrible war, brought the long-awaited liberation to all Europe. Heroes of the celebration, despite their age, are leaning on a wand or on the hand of an escort, trying to keep the bearing of the winners.
The President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky sincerely congratulated everyone on the upcoming Victory Day, and wished the veterans to protect themselves and transfer their knowledge and experience of youth
The generation of winners who knows the truth about the formidable 40's and tells about it to their descendants is still alive.... Their baton was picked up by children and grandchildren. How many films were shot about the Great Patriotic War, how many poems and books were written ... In every story, in every line is the real events of those years.
Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba from all heart congratulated veterans on the holiday and wished them long life.
Veterans' faces seemed during the festive concert to grow younger again - the artists, including the very young ones, came to congratulate them. Under the songs of the war years, songs of youth, soldiers of the Great Patriotic War recalled heavy front lines, tears of loss and joy of Victory. They congratulate each other on the coming great holiday; they smile, from the soul they rejoice in the spring. On the 9TH of May many of them, if health permits, will pass in the column of the Immortal Regiment, lay flowers to the graves of the fallen.
Veterans leave, they become less and less with each year. Our duty is to remember them, for the sake of peace and a bright sky above our heads.
