Execution of voters' orders in the “Solnechny” micro-district in Bendery

09.10.2023

This is not the first year that money from the Fund for the Execution of Voters’ Orders in constituency Number 1 “Solnechny” in Bendery has been allocated to repair sidewalks. The city's micro-district of the same name is undulated, with multi-storey buildings located on the rise. You need to get to a bus stop to go through flights of stairs and many paths that have not been repaired since Soviet times. The situation is changing thanks to the work of the Voter's Order Execution Fund. Tens and hundreds of thousands of rubles are spent on replacing old broken asphalt with paving slabs every year. Pedestrian areas and courtyard areas are being repaired.

“The asphalt surface deteriorated over time. People complained that they were falling, getting dislocations, fractures, and bruises. There were quite a large number of citizens' complaints regarding this matter. Therefore we decided together with the deputies of the City Council for the constituency that we will direct the funds from the Voter Mandate Funds (republican and local) to the arrangement of pedestrian zones and courtyard passages, first of all,” noted the deputy for constituency Number 1 “Solnechny”, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov.

Last year, the path from the bus stop in Leningradskaya Street to outpatients' clinic No. 6 was paved with paving slabs: the sidewalk and flight of stairs were replaced. It was unsafe previously to walk along the old steps, especially in the dark, there were no handrails, said parliamentarian Alexander Korshunov. The project was implemented using funds from the 2022 Mandate Fund. In addition, there is a pedestrian zone, leading to the outpatients' clinic.

There are still many sidewalks in the Solnechny micro-district and adjacent areas where the asphalt is full of holes and potholes. The situation is improving gradually through the efforts of deputies of the Supreme and City Councils in constituency Number 1. Initiative residents help with landscaping their yards. A striking example of such interaction, according to Alexander Korshunov, is the high-rise buildings in Matsnev Street. A new slab sidewalk was laid along the road using funds from the Local Council Mandate Fund. The residents of the house No. 3 in Matsnev Street equipped a children's playground and a place for workout.

The entire yard was paved with paving slabs last year in the neighboring house No. 1 in Matsnev Street. It’s not just convenient to walk here now, residents have peace of mind that emergency vehicles will be able to freely drive right up to the entrance if necessary.

The parliamentary program “Path” in addition to the Fund for the Execution of Voters’ Orders helps to update the condition of sidewalks. The project is financed by the raised and own funds of the deputies of the Supreme and City Councils of the Solnechny micro-district. Dozens of convenient paved paths appeared in the neighborhood over the course of several years. Deputies note that pavement of a sidewalk or local area with tiles is three times cheaper than laying asphalt. The large-scale project to improve constituency Number 1 in Bendery continues at the expense of the Fund for the Execution of Voters’ Orders and the “Path” program.
