About use of remotely piloted aircrafts in the second reading

02.06.2022

The Supreme Council adopted in the second final reading a package of legislations regulating the use of remotely piloted aircraft. The initiative was directed by the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky banned the use of remotely piloted aircraft without prior approval from the Ministry of State Security by his decree earlier due to terrorist acts committed on the territory of Pridnestrovie.

The deputy of the Supreme Council explained: unmanned aerial vehicles with a maximum take-off weight of over 30 kilograms will be subject to full registration. They represent the greatest danger, and their use will be controlled quite carefully. The laws governing the work of law enforcement agencies contain rules that allow law enforcement agencies to stop the illegal presence of unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace. Different rules for the use of drones with a lower payload.

Amendments have been made to the Air Code so that the powers to control and supervise the use of airspace are transferred to the President.

The procedure for the implementation of the adopted legislations will be prescribed in the regulatory legal acts of the Government.
