On the situation in the sphere of water supply

28.03.2018

The Supreme Council within the framework of the plenary session held an information hour for the executive branch. On the agenda is the issue of organization of drinking water accounting and, in general, the situation in the sphere of water supply. Information on the state of affairs in this sphere was presented to parliamentarians by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Nikolai Gliga. He began by saying that water, like any other resource of the state, should be used rationally. And the task of the State Unitary Enterprise "Water supply and water disposal" is to maximize the accounting of this resource. The representative of the government cited statistical data.

The installation of water meters is voluntary at present. Citizens acquire them at their own expense. Residents of cities do it cheaper, in villages - because of the technical solution is more expensive. According to the representative of the agency, the state does not have enough funds to provide water meters to all consumers, as it was done in gas and electricity supply industries. Only one customer needs, for example, only two counters, and another may need eight. Today, the consumer pays for water, as it is more profitable for him: according to the instruments of account or the social norm. Nevertheless, the government is looking for ways to solve the problem. For example, the option of providing installments for payment for purchased water meters is being considered.

The parliamentarians drew the attention of the representative of the executive authority to the fact that the purchase of water meters for many citizens, as well as their verification, remain very costly measures. Nikolay Gliga explained that negotiations are currently underway to supply meters from the Russian Federation, the price of which will be half. If one meter costs 210 rubles for city residents, and 350 rubles for villagers, then in the near future the water meter can be purchased in the range from 130 to 150 rubles. In this case, the verification of the meters will be cheaper, and for those who already pay a subscription fee for service - the procedure will be free.

Deputies were interested in the question concerning the size of tariffs for services of the water supply organization, of what does it form today? In the opinion of parliamentarians, information on tariffs should be freely available so that every citizen can get acquainted with it.

Following the consideration of the information, the parliamentarians took note of it.
