Deputies initiated an information hour of the executive branch to discuss topical issues in the sphere of healthcare last week.
The Healthcare Minister Kristina Albul answered the parliamentarians' questions immediately after the plenary session. The first topic for discussion was the problem of unused vacations of healthcare workers. The burden on the entire system of protecting the health of citizens has seriously increased during the pandemic. Many employees involved in the work of COVID hospitals have been forced to reschedule and postpone their holidays.
The Government is actively working on the problem of unused vacations for 2020 and 2021. According to the Minister of Healthcare, control over compliance with labor laws and the timely provision of annual paid leave has been strengthened this year.
Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities raised the topical issue of the lack of qualified personnel in medicine.
According to the Healthcare Minister, specialists do not express a desire to work in districts and villages, guided by three criteria: wages, working conditions and career growth.
The state pays great attention to solving the personnel issue today. Repairs have been carried out in rural feldsher-obstetric stations, there are norms for providing state subsidies for the purchase of their own housing for young families. Young professionals are supported, the right to tax deductions is given to them. The republican budget for 2023 will include funds for a 12% increase in the salaries of doctors and teachers. According to the deputies of the Supreme Council, special attention should be paid to the issue of training young personnel. The Faculty of Medicine of the Pridnestrovian State University lacks teachers who could share their experience and knowledge with students – future doctors.
The Government Chairman agreed with the suggestion of the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament. Alexander Rosenberg expressed readiness for joint work of the two branches of Government on this issue.
The Supreme Council will prepare a Resolution based on the results of the hearings that will outline the conceptual proposals of the deputies in the sphere of healthcare.
