Dear Pridnestrovians!
The 290th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Suvorov is celebrated on the 24th of November, 2020. Everyone knows the name of the generalissimo of the Russian army in our republic. Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov lived a righteous, honest life and accomplished many great deeds for the benefit of the freedom and security of our Fatherland.
The name of Suvorov became a vivid symbol of military valor, the glory of Russian weapons, and loyalty to the Fatherland during his lifetime. Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov is the only commander in the world who has not lost a single battle, a holder of all Russian orders of his time.
Organizer of the brilliant victories of the Russian army, strategist of an offensive nature, tactics of columns and loose formation, author of military theoretical works "Regimental Institution", "Science of Victory" and systems of education and training of troops, educated a galaxy of military leaders, among whom the most famous were Generals Kutuzov, Bagration , Raevsky and Ermolov.
We, Pridnestrovians, are proud that the history of our region is associated with the name of Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, through whose efforts the left-bank territory of the Dniester was included in the Russian Empire, a statesman, on whose initiative the Tiraspol Fortress was founded and the city of Tiraspol was founded.
Pridnestrovians faithfully keep the memory of the great commander and his achievements. The main square, located in the capital of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic - the city of Tiraspol, bears the name of Suvorov.
The Suvorov legacy lives on, acquires new recognizable features in modern officers and soldiers who honor their military duty, in the growing succession of Suvorov soldiers and cadets, who, together with their mentors, follow the path of a worthy continuation of Suvorov's traditions, along the path of selfless and loyal service to the Fatherland.
