Igor Smirnov was awarded the Order of Potemkin-Tavrichesky

The first President of the PMR, Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies Igor Smirnov was awarded the Order of G.A. Potemkin-Tavrichesky. “For personal contribution to the formation and development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, for merits in ensuring the security of the state...” says the decree of the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived at the office of the founder of the republic, where he personally presented the Order of Potemkin-Tavrichesky to the birthday person. Igor Smirnov is the first Pridnestrovian to receive this award, according to the Presidential Press Service. The order was previously awarded to the city of Bendery on the occasion of its anniversary.

The first President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic celebrated his 82nd birthday today. Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated Igor Smirnov on behalf of the entire Pridnestrovian people emphasizing that the services of the First President of the PMR to the country cannot be overestimated.

Igor Smirnov expressed gratitude for the congratulations and the award, emphasizing that the most important thing is saving people. The First President of the PMR said that pupils of Suvorov Military College were among those whose congratulations he accepted today. Education of youth, connection of generations, preservation of victories won by ancestors – this is the guarantee of the future of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Igor Smirnov expressed confidence.
