Igor Smirnov, “Pridnestrovie has always been a socially oriented state”

Members of the consultative assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies under the Chairman of the Supreme Council are again in the plenary hall of the parliament . As part of the discussion of the work plan of this public body, Alexander Shcherba the head of the legislative branch of power, was invited to talk about the current state of the economy, the budget process, and the state’s fulfillment of social obligations to citizens.

Yesterday, deputies voted for the adoption of the state budget for 2019 in the first reading. Therefore, the first thing that the creators of the republic were interested in was the content and work on the main financial document of the country.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council told the first Pridnestrovian deputies about some versions of this mechanism. If we talk about the salaries of public sector employees, then we consider the option of increasing salaries. With an increase in the size of pensions, it is assumed that the pensionable work record will be taken as the basis.

The founders of the republic, in particular the first president of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov during the ensuing discussion again raised the issue of the need to index the incomes of citizens if the official inflation parameters exceed 5%, as the law requires. Responding to it, the head of the legislative body reported that the freezing of tariffs for housing and communal services was a significant measure of social support for the population.

Work on the 2019 budget is another topic of conversation between deputies of different generations. The firstPridnestrovian deputies show special interest in it. Moreover, they want to participate in this process.

The founders of the republic during the last meeting decided to create an independent expert-analytical group to analyze and objectively evaluate the draft law “On the republican budget 2019”. It includes Vladimir Rylyakov, Vyacheslav Zagryadsky, Vladimir Labunsky, Vladimir Kharchenko, Boris Brizitsky. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Scherba assured that this group will be given all possible assistance in the work, and the experience of the founders of the republic is very important for the current parliamentarians.

In conclusion of the meeting, the members of the consultative assembly decided to appeal to the President with a request to clarify the new procedure for providing gas to the population for heating needs. In addition, at one of the next meetings, the founders of the republic intend to discuss in more detail the problems associated with the wage system in the public sector.
