The most painful decision for Pridnestrovian citizens, taken by former officials in 2015, is to cut salaries and pensions by 30%. Deputies were asked all the past year questions of the validity of this decision of the former head of state. The fact that this decision was unlawful was not in doubt. The criminal case was instituted July 27, 2016. However, that time the investigators were under pressure. The experts of the Accounts Chamber also tried to scare them. The control body was discredited by Shevchuk himself, and the media he established.

Introducing the submission to the consideration of the deputy corps, Prosecutor Anatoly Guretsky noted that some of the materials attached to the criminal case have a classification of secrecy. The deputies supported the proposal of Speaker Alexander Shcherba with a unanimous decision to consider the document in an open mode.

Igor Buga, chairman of the parliamentary committee on public associations, sports, information and youth policy, recalled the grave consequences to which the decisions of the former head of the republic led.

The Supreme Council agreed to deprive the former head of state Yevgeny Shevchuk of immunity in this criminal case and initiation of investigative actions against him.
