The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with internationalist warriors on the eve of the day Soviet troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan. The dialogue was attended by Deputy of the Supreme Council, chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, Igor Buga, representatives of the Government and Afghan warriors.
During the meeting, issues related to the progress of the negotiation process with the Republic of Moldova were discussed. Topic of border crossing on cars with neutral license plates was discussed. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky said that Pridnestrovie will take the initiative to introduce a neutral driver’s license and will include this issue in the agenda of the next meetings.
At the meeting, the question was raised that in the list of those who could get to the doctor out of turn, along with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the PMR defenders, include Afghans and participants in local wars.
During the dialogue, they touched on the simplification of the mechanism for receiving pension benefits for participation in hostilities.
The President, in turn, thanked the Afghans warriors for their heroism and for the fact that they prevented many terrorist attacks, local wars and the deaths of millions of people with their feat.
