The head of the parliamentary committee on public associations, sports, information and youth policy, chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, Igor Buga, on the air of the state television channel told about the construction of the memorial to the soldiers-Afghans and defenders Pridnestrovie in Rybnitsa. It is supposed to be put into operation August 1 this year, when the quarter-century anniversary of the end of the armed conflict between Moldova and Pridnestrovie will be celebrated. Rybnitsa remains the only city in the republic, where there is still no such memorial complex.
According to the people's deputy, the main difficulties in carrying out the work are connected with a lack of finance. The erection of the memorial is conducted by the method of people's construction, those who wish, provide charity and sponsorship.
A deputy of the Supreme Council called on state structures and private enterprises of the republic, all Pridnestrovians to render all possible assistance in building the memorial, transferring funds to a special account.
