A temple festival is celebrated twice in Slobodzeya. The city has long been divided into Russian and Moldavian parts. In summer, the day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, guests are greeted with Russian pies. Today, on St. Michael's Day, a temple holiday is celebrated according to Moldovan traditions. Residents of Slobodzeya do not oppose such a feature: the boundary between Russian and Moldovan has long been conditional. Summer and autumn days of the city are celebrated all over the city.
This holiday began with a service in the Church of the Archangel Michael, the patron saint of the Moldavian part of Slobodzeya. Then the citizens made a procession from the church to the chapel in the center of the city. At the House of Culture, residents and guests waited for refreshments and performances by creative groups. Especially pleasant was the folklore ensemble from the village of Chobruchi. Favorite folk songs were heard in Moldovan, Russian and Ukrainian. All those who wished were offered cooked at the stake and home placinta.
The hall of the House of Culture held a solemn part. Old urban residents came here, as well as representatives of the younger generation. Residents of Slobodzeya and guests of the city were congratulated by the head of the regional state administration Vasily Tishchenko.
Traditionally, veterans of labor were honored at the celebration. Young specialists were mentioned in certificates and gratitude letters. The welcome address of the Chairman of the Supreme Council on the occasion of the holiday was handed to the city's leadership by the parliamentarian Pavel Shinkaryuk.
The Deputy added that he is ready to continue to make every effort to develop and prosper the native city. In a solemn atmosphere the Dean of the Slobodzeya District, the archpriest Andrei Danilescu, awarded the parliamentarian with the Medal of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary - for helping the temple and the citizens.
On the Day of the City of residents of Slobodzeya there is a surprise - guests from the city of Rybnitsa, winners of the international contest of young performers "New Wave" - the group "DoReDos". The festive program will continue with an evening dance marathon and a fire show.
