To liquidate the investment agency and the state management company – is the Parliament’s recommendation

Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic supported today the decision of the working groups that included parliamentarians, representatives of the Prosecutor's Office and the Accounts Chamber, on the recommendation to the Government to liquidate the State Institution "Agency for Investment and Development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" and JSC "State Management Company" from the 1st of July, 2022.

The working groups began their work in March and studied and analyzed the activities of the Investment Agency for several months, the state management company and the Tourism Agency. The prosecutor's office and the Accounts Chamber carried out inspections. The Head of the working group, Deputy Vadim Kravchuk, emphasized presenting the report that the recommendation to liquidate the Investment Agency is associated with a decrease in its effectiveness. 5 out of the 11 investment agreements signed during the work of the agency are not implemented or terminated. Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Rosenberg spoke today about minimizing the activity of the agency, presenting to the deputies a report on the work of the Government in 2021.

The Supreme Council recommends that the Government stop the agency's activities from July 1 and transfer its functions and main activities to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in order to save the republican budget, from which the activities of the State Institution "Agency for Investments and Development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" are financed.

The Supreme Council proposed to liquidate the OJSC “State Management Company” due to inefficiency. This was stated in the speech of the Head of the working group for the study and analysis of the work of this organization, the vice-speaker of the parliament Galina Antyufeeva.

The deputies supported the decision of the working group to recommend the abolition of the work of the state management company and adopted the corresponding Resolution.

At the same plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, speaking on the results of the Government's report on the work in 2021, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the activities of the State Management Company. According to the press service of the PMR President, the Government pointed to the efficiency of the state management company, naming 15 enterprises that benefited from external management. However, the Accounts Chamber considers that there are only five of them. The President, without disputing the achievements of the organization, instructed to analyze the productivity of its activities and assess the feasibility of continuing work.

The activities of the State Institution "Tourism Agency of the PMR" were also studied by a working group consisting of parliamentarians, the Prosecutor's Office and the Accounts Chamber. The Tourism Agency was established at the end of 2019, the start of its activities fell on the beginning of the pandemic. As a result, the Agency developed a website, a tourist guide and other organizational activities in 2020. There is a state target program for the development of tourism adopted by the Supreme Council in Pridnestrovie. But the financing of both the state program and the Agency is not carried out in full.

The deputies supported the Resolution, in which the Government is also recommended to develop a list of statistical information on the functioning of tourism industry entities and reflect the relevant data in the report on the implementation of the State Target Program "Support and Development of Tourism in the PMR", to establish closer cooperation with tourism organizations in order to increase the attractiveness of Pridnestrovie and strengthen work on the development of tourism in all regions of our republic.
