The state will help people with disabilities of I and II groups find jobs

07.10.2020

The state will provide assistance in employment to disabled people of I and II groups. They will be able to register at the employment center, but without assigning the status of unemployed. Today, only disabled persons of the III group have the right to register at the employment center. Thanks to the changes in the legislation, unemployed people with disabilities of other groups will be provided with individual assistance in finding employment, creating conditions for work and professional adaptation.

According to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, today there are 21883 disabled people over 18 years old in the republic. Only 2890 of these people are employed. As a rule, people in the first and second disability groups find work on their own. The percentage of their employment is low. Working disabled people of group I - almost 2.5% of their total number, and group II - about 10%.

The adopted amendments to the laws "On social protection of disabled people" and "On employment of the population" were sent for signature to the President. The effect of the new norms of laws will make it possible to shift the currently difficult issue of employment of disabled people in a positive direction, according to the Supreme Council.
