It is not the first year that the question of a comprehensive state family policy has been raised in Pridnestrovie. Special attention was paid to the family as the basis for the stable development of the state in the Development Strategy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2019–2026. This document defines the main goals, including the development of the system of state family policy and the improvement of the system of protection of motherhood and childhood. Among them there is popularization of traditional family values, strengthening the institution of the family, improving the quality of life of families, and improving the demographic situation. Work in these areas is actively carried out in the legislative and executive authorities of our republic.
"State family policy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic: problems of implementation and solutions" round table dedicated to the state family policy of Pridnestrovie was held at the Institute of Public Administration, Law and Social Sciences and the Humanities, PSU named after T. G. Shevchenko. Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, the scientific community were invited to discuss the topical issue.
One of the speakers was Mikhail Burla, Deputy of the Supreme Council of the IV, V and VI convocations, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the V convocation. Mikhail Burla during his years in the legislature headed the parliamentary Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Family and Childhood. Now he is the Head of the science department of the PMR Government Office, Head of the Department of Socio-Economic Geography and Regional Studies of the Faculty of Natural Geography of the Pridnestrovian State University, candidate of geographical sciences. Mikhail Burla drew attention in his report to the main trends in the demographic situation in Pridnestrovie.
The problem of population decline is indeed painful for our state. Such trends have been observed for more than a decade. This has a negative impact on the socio-economic development of the republic. The problem of population decline is especially acute among the younger generation of Pridnestrovians. Today, the state is taking measures to keep young people in the republic, supporting young families and young professionals. According to Mikhail Burla, effective social lifts will be able to counteract the "brain drain" - opportunities and prospects for career growth. This will help young people to more clearly define their future in Pridnestrovie.
A number of other interesting topics were discussed during the round table, for example, the stability of the family institution in modern Pridnestrovie society and the reproductive health of young people.
