The Supreme Council deputies considered the PMR law-in-draft "On the approval of the state target program "Restoration and development of the melioration complex of the PMR for 2021-2026" in the second reading.
The state target program for the restoration of the reclamation industry was adopted by the Supreme Council in the first reading in summer. Agrarians have long said that such a program is needed. Farms suffer losses without artificial irrigation in dry years. It is necessary to restore the irrigation system of the republic to guarantee a stable harvest. In addition, the new state program is aimed at creating additional jobs and reducing the volume of imported products, which in turn will ensure the food security of Pridnestrovie. Deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the Government and land users took part in the preparation of the program.
The program specifies the objects of the reclamation complex and the order in which they will be repaired. The program was originally designed for 6 years. However, our state and the whole world have been fighting the pandemic two years. The financial resources, which were originally planned to be spent on the restoration of land reclamation, were directed to the health sector. In this regard, the start dates for the implementation of the program have shifted. The Agro-Industrial Complex Committee amended the law-in-draft and proposed to change the time period for the implementation of the program – from 2022 to 2026. The original version was from 2021 to 2026.
The Supreme Council adopted the law-in-draft “On approval of the state target program “Restoration and development of the PMR reclamation complex for 2022-2026” in the final reading.
