State support for large families

The deputy of the Supreme Council Sergey Cheban initiated the introduction of amendments to the law “On state support of large families”. The reason for the development of legislative initiatives was the numerous appeals of citizens.

The legislator proposed to clarify the concept of "having a large family" in relation to stepchildren and stepdaughters. Determining the status of large families, children who are relatives only of one of the spouses should be taken into account, the legislator supposes. The opinion of the Deputy was supported by deputies. The document was adopted in the first reading. Deputies plan to consider the initiative at the next plenary session in the second reading.

Changes should minimize the number of certificates collected when obtaining the status of a large family. At present, a child has to give up his surname and patronymic, and his biological parent - from the right to participate in the life of his/her child.

The privilege can be given at payment of utilities. For families raising three children, the size of the benefits is 20%, four - 30%, five or more - 50%. In addition, after amending the law, the interests of a child, who wants to maintain contact with the biological parent and his/her name, will not be violated, the legislator noted.
