10.11.2023

Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov took part in the gala event dedicated to Militia Day. The Speaker of Parliament together with the President and the Chairman of Government presented state awards to the distinguished employees. The Ministry of Internal Affairs established a special award for the wives of militia officers – the badge “For Love and Fidelity” this year.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, who served in law enforcement agencies for almost 20 years, 5 of which - from 2007 to 2012 - as the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, noted in his congratulations that the formation of the Pridnestrovian militia is inextricably linked with the development of statehood of Pridnestrovie.

More than 40 policemen died in the fight against crime in Pridnestrovie, and another 16 law enforcement officers gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the republic. Those present honored their memory with a minute of silence.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic noted the high level of public trust in the Pridnestrovian police. Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for protecting public safety and law and order, wishing peace and health.

According to the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, the successful implementation of the tasks assigned to law enforcement agencies is determined primarily by the competence and efficiency of militia officers, their clear understanding of the role of internal affairs bodies in modern society, and a developed sense of responsibility to the citizens of the republic for the work performed.

The ceremonial event for Militia Day was held at the Tiraspol cinema. The guests were shown a film about the work of the Pridnestrovian militia. The film was shot by a local creative group under the leadership of a Russian director. Not only Pridnestrovian professional actors were involved in the film, but also militia officers, according to the official website of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
