As the head of the Duma committee Leonid Slutsky said, the State Duma invited 318 foreign observers to the presidential elections in Russia. According to the parliamentarian, at the same time there will be a "powerful composition of individual observers" present at the elections, represented by senators and deputies of national parliaments known abroad who are also members of international parliamentary organizations.
The deputy noted that the Russian side also hopes for objective conclusions and assessments of international representatives, who will monitor the voting on the election day.
Earlier it was reported that the Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, sent invitations to participate as observers in the election of the Russian President to representatives of 74 states. In accordance with the current legislation, invitations to foreign observers can be sent by the acting President, the Federal Assembly, the Government and the Central Election Commission after the official publication of the decision on the appointment of the voting date.
Elections of the President of Russia will be held on Sunday, March 18.
