The Dragon Racing 2024

“The President's Family for Healthy Lifestyle” regatta has been taking place at the capital's rowing base since the very morning. 54 non-professional teams are participating. “The Supreme Dragon” team of the Supreme Council called competed among the teams of public and administrative authorities on boats of the “Dragon” class (17 teams in total). The team includes Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, parliamentarian Pavel Shinkaryuk and members of the Supreme Council staff.

The team of the Supreme Council competed with the team of the Ministry of Digital Development in the first race, according to the draw. The Supreme Council showed a time of 1 minute 26 seconds 87 milliseconds, losing by a fraction of a second to the team of the Ministry of Digital Development, which showed a result of 1.26.31 at the finish line.

The speaker emphasized that the parliamentary team supports the thesis of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky for healthy lifestyle.

The Supreme Council team did not advance to the next round, based on the results of the races in the group of civil authorities and management. The participants are satisfied with their result, taking into account the fact that everyone on the team is new except for speaker Alexander Korshunov, who already has experience in competitions on dragon class boats. The team was preparing for the regatta, managed to conduct 9 training sessions, the best result was 1 minute 30 seconds. The new rowers in the course of the regatta completed the distance 4 seconds faster thanks to the support of a group of fans.

The young team plans to continue training in order to reach a more professional level and next year again take part and compete for first place in the presidential regatta.

The participants of all 54 teams were welcomed by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky at the official opening of the regatta. The President noted the growing interest in rowing caused by the interdepartmental regatta. He spoke about the democracy and accessibility of this sport, about favorable conditions for its development in Pridnestrovie, as well as about the special character, activity, fortitude, and cohesion of the Pridnestrovian people. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of supporting mass sports. He drew attention to the different age composition of the regatta participants. The President wished light water and emphasized that in these competitions it is not a single team that wins, but sport, health, beauty, and unity.

The final swims of the teams that showed the best results today and the race for the Super Cup will be held tomorrow, June 8, after which the award ceremony for the winners and participants of the dragon boat regatta “The President’s Family for Healthy Lifestyle” will take place.
