Anniversary of the interstate cooperation between the PMR and the Abkhazia

The first agreement on friendship and cooperation was signed between Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia 28 years ago. The President of the PMR Igor Smirnov and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba put their signatures on the first interstate document. The agreement became the basis for the beginning of interaction between the two fraternal republics at the state level.

Tiraspol and Sukhum have been developing cooperation in various fields for many years. About 30 various interstate and interdepartmental agreements have been signed in the field of economics, humanitarian, social, law enforcement and military-political spheres.

Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia at the parliaments level have been cooperating for many years. A new stage of cooperation began in 2006. A new interparliamentary institution was created - the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Community for Democracy and the Rights of Peoples in September 2006. It includes Pridnestrovie, South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The purpose of the Assembly was the need to coordinate the actions of our three states in all spheres of life, including security.

Interparliamentary cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia continues, relations in the political, socio-economic and humanitarian spheres are strengthening.
