Unjustified detentions of Pridnestrovian officials at the airport in Chisinau occur regularly. The PMR MFA raised this topic both at the level of the negotiation process with Moldovan colleagues and within the framework of meetings with international structures. The situation remains unresolved. Detentions of officials, including ministers and deputies, continue.
This time, an unpleasant surprise awaited the Pridnestrovian delegation after a busy working week to Moscow. Without explaining the reasons at the Chisinau airport, all members of the delegation – deputies of the Supreme Council, the deputy minister of economic development and the head of the Central Bank –were taken away documents and made to wait. They made the so-called inspection of the "second level" - luggage, clothes, personal belongings after an hour of waiting. The most interesting thing awaited the Pridnestrovian delegation further. The Chairman of the Pridnestrovian parliament, in an interview with the parliamentary press service, spoke about his conversation with a "man in civilian clothes" who did not introduce himself.
The events of 1992 were touched upon in the so-called "friendly conversation". According to the speaker, his interlocutor is sure that Pridnestrovie started the hostilities at that time.
There were other claims against our republic. Pridnestrovie was presented as an undemocratic, non-legal state. As expected, there was no reaction to the counter-arguments of the Pridnestrovian side about the country's own legal system and Constitution, the holding of 7 referendums, the presence of an elected parliament. The "conversation" lasted for an hour, leaving behind food for thought.
The delegation of Pridnestrovie was detained at the Chisinau airport after arrival – for almost 3 hours on November 19. It became known about the same detention and inspection at the Chisinau airport of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev before the flight to the Russian Federation this week. As a result, the Head of the Foreign Ministry missed the plane.
