A meeting of the Pridnestrovian parliament Speaker Mikhail Burla with the head of the EU Delegation in Moldova Pirkka Tapiola took place at the Supreme Council. The dialogue was attended by Vice-Speaker Sergei Cheban and head of the Committee on Development of Small and Medium Business and Industry Viktor Guzun.

Topics regarding various spheres of cooperation between Moldova and Pridnestrovie were discussed in the course of the meeting. Among them – there is potential resumption of interrupted in 2002, the official inter-parliamentary relations, the necessity to address issues related to the legalization of Pridnestrovian documents in the education sphere, social health projects implementation in Pridnestrovie. In this discussion, the main focus at that was shifted to the sphere of economic problems.

Answering the question regarding possible meeting between Moldavian and Pridnestrovian parliament, Mikhail Burla noted, "We are studying the issue concerning potential for organizing a meeting between parliamentarians of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. To date, issues of mutual interest within the competence of the legislators, as well as the format of the meeting have not been determined". According to the speaker, these issues will be examined in due course.
