Today in Moscow at the State Kremlin Palace XXVIII International Christmas educational readings was opened. This is one of the largest forums of the Russian Orthodox Church dedicated to issues of religious education, catechesis, the role of the church in the life of a person, family and society.
In the year of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, readings will be held on the theme "The Great Victory: Heritage and Heirs."
On January 28, the VIII Christmas Parliamentary Meetings will be held as part of the readings in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly. Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill are the organizers.
Representatives of the Council of the Federation and the State Duma, various ministries and departments of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, representatives of state authorities and public organizations, all dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, educational institutions will take part in the readings. Traditionally, deputies of the PMR legislative body take part in the event. The Pridnestrovian delegation includes: Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Deputies Oleg Vasilaty and Ruslan Gareev, the Head of the CEC Elena Gorodetskaya.
Plenary meeting, round table meetings, an exhibition of children's drawings "The Beauty of God's Peace" and photo exhibitions will be held as part of the Christmas parliamentary meetings.
