Geological study of subsoil is the prerogative of the state

Deputies considered government legislations concerning the geological study of the republic's subsoil in the course of the Supreme Council plenary meeting. The executive body proposed to exclude this right from legal entities and individuals due to the fact that the state is engaged in the search, exploration and assessment of mineral deposits in the republic. Thus, they should not conduct geological exploration of the subsoil on the land plots provided to them for lease.

Changes are being made to two laws: “On payments for environmental pollution and the use of natural resources” and “On subsoil”. The legislations were presented at the plenary session by the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Oleg Diligul and emphasized that the changes were developed in order to implement an effective budget tax policy, as well as to resolve issues related to the procedure for calculating tax payments for the use of state subsoil resources.

Deputies supported the legislations in the first reading; the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex, Transport, Construction and Natural Resources will continue to work on them.
